Privacy & acceptable use

Effective date: April 29, 2026. This document describes how BotScope handles information and the rules for using the service. It is not a substitute for a separately negotiated agreement where one applies.

What BotScope does

BotScope performs outside-in, passive scans of public web URLs you submit. We collect observable signals (for example HTTP responses, headers, and page content loaded in a controlled browser session within product limits) to document anti-bot and anti-agent posture. The product is designed for defensive assessment and reporting, not for intrusive or destructive testing.

Information we collect

  • Account data: email address, password hash, and profile details you provide when you create or maintain an account.
  • Scan inputs and outputs: target URLs you submit, scan job metadata, findings, evidence artifacts, reports, and monitoring configuration where you use that feature.
  • Billing data: plan, purchase history, and payment-related identifiers processed by our payment provider; we generally do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser characteristics, cookies or similar technologies tied to sessions, timestamps, and internal logs used to operate, secure, and debug the service (including abuse prevention signals such as session fingerprinting for anonymous free-tier limits).
  • Support and feedback: messages and attachments you send us through in-product support or other channels.

How we use information

We use the information above to provide scans and reports, authenticate accounts, process payments, deliver monitoring and alerts where enabled, enforce plan limits and quotas, detect and prevent abuse or fraud, comply with law, improve reliability and security, and communicate with you about the service (including transactional messages). We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We may share information with vendors and service providers that process data on our behalf (for example hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, and security). We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of BotScope, our users, or the public. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Acceptable use

You may use BotScope only in compliance with applicable law and the terms of any site you target. You agree not to misuse the service. Without limitation, you must not:

  • Use BotScope to coordinate or carry out destructive testing, exploitation, red-team validation, or bypass of anti-bot or anti-agent controls (including CAPTCHA solving, credential stuffing, or scripted evasion).
  • Attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, or reverse engineer the service, scrape the product in bulk, circumvent rate limits or entitlements, or probe other customers' data.
  • Use the service to harass, threaten, or violate the privacy of others, or to violate intellectual property or other third-party rights.
  • Submit illegal content or targets, or use outputs to facilitate unlawful activity.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations or for operational or legal reasons, with or without notice where permitted.

Public URLs and ownership

BotScope is ownership-neutral: you do not need to own or control a URL to run a scan. Running a scan does not mean we verify ownership or endorse your use case. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with law and with the target site's terms and policies.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods can vary by data category. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us through the support channel below; we may need to verify your request. You can manage some account settings directly in the product.

Changes

We may update this page from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of BotScope after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms where allowed by law.
